Double Page Spread Construction

From my photoshoot I learnt how taking a good quality image is important and taking one of movement is harder than expected, but with that came some good quality picture that I found suitable for different parts of my magazine. The Goodnight Harvey logo I made was extremely important to making my magazine look as professional as possible and it was used successfully.

Front Cover Poster Pictures

When taking pictures for my magazine I realised I needed to take more than expected just to try and get that perfect image to use for different sections. Most my images from these shoots were then turned into posters. Which I knew were needed as lots of other successful magazines of the genre use them.

Contents Page

Starting off I chose my background image that helps set the feel of my contents page, I editted my images to give a cold chilly feel but then I decided against using them and the layout. I started off by trying to use the small images as other main stories in my magazine but then felt the images weren't suitable for this use and my page layout didnt look right, I feel my new layout is a lot clearer and easier to read.

Front Cover Construction

Here is the process of how I put my font cover together, I wanted to keep to a memorable colour scheme to make my magazine different to any other metal/ rock magazine out there. I wanted to make sure it was clear what featured in my magazine. As a metalcore listener I used what I would want too see in a magazine and what things make me want to buy it. such as free posters, my research showed found people who buy my genre of magazine buy it for the posters of the bands they want to see, so I tried to make clear that posters were featured.

These pictures were for my front cover picture, this was from my first photo shoot, in a way it was successful as I was also able to get a front cover image and I also have learnt how to use the camera properly.

Rate card

By making my rate card it helped me understand my audience. I found out what they like, what they do on a daily basis which helped me by knowing what they would want to see in a magazine and what would make them want to purchase a magazine.
