Thinking of a concept

Making this was really helpful for me, spanning out what I actually wanted my magazine to be about and how I can use different things to make it into a successful magazine.

Research into other music magazines

From this I learnt what magazines there are floating around the market, how much things cost and who the main contenders of my genre there are.

Flat plan of Title, contents page and double page spread

By making this I was able to see what layout would work best for my magazine, how I should lay out images and then I can look back at it after further research and see how it could be changed

Flat Plan

I found by evenly spreading the range of pages helps break up a magazine, putting adverts throughout the magazine helps split up page topics, so after going from one double spread of one band straight into another, by putting an advert it helps not confuse the reader and makes an easier, less complex read.

Front cover representation

By being able to look through in detail front pages of the style of magazine I wish to create I was able to start to understand what I needed to do to create a magazine front cover like these

Audience survey review

Doing an audience survey really helped me understand what readers want to read in a magazine and therefore I can use the feedback to help shape my magazine into one that readers would want to read.

Contents and Double Page Spread Check List

I have learnt that I need to have everything on the checklist in my magazine

Market research

From this I have more of an understanding of what other readers like in magazines and I can then try and use others comments to influence my magazine.
